I recently graduated with a Masters of Robotics from Carnegie Mellon University. My research at CMU focused on the following areas:
Perception in Indoor environments
Mapping in dynamic environments
Planning in dynamic environments.
My goal in research was to develop an indoor helper robot that can assist people in their everyday lives. I worked with the
Personal Robotics group at Intel Research Pittsburgh, where we created HERB, (Home Exploring Robotic Butler) a robot that is designed to help people perform household tasks. In addition, I was part of the
Quality of Life Technology center, a NSF funded project to develop technology that can aid the elderly and disabled.
For more on my specific research areas, please take a look at the projects I worked on. A list of my publications can be found here.
My interest in robotics transcends my current research goals. I have been interested in robots for a while, and have worked with a number of robots in the past.
